The Benefits of a Photography Workshop
You have a vision. You can see the photograph you want, but you just can’t seem to get the camera to give you what you’re looking for. Reading photography books isn’t always the easiest way to learn. Photography workshops allow you to get hands on training, and you can practice the techniques under the guidance of your instructor.
I learned photography on my own, mostly through trial and error. I purchased a few different books to learn much of the basics. Much of my learning was through other photographers’ works. Looking back, I realize how much easier it would have been to learn from an established photographer.
I think photography is a great way to share the beauty of our world. I think more people should join this art. There are always photographers willing to teach you what they know, and probably many in your area. All you have to do is look them up.
Photography Workshops by Nick Chill
I am available for one-on-one and small group photography workshops in the San Diego Area and beyond (with travel expenses). I will also schedule time for workshops and tutorials during some of my photography trips. I’ll post information on these opportunities as they become available.
The workshop curriculum will depend on the experience and knowledge of the attendee(s). We can go over the basic photography settings (such as aperture, shutter-speed, ISO, and white-balance) and how to use them to get the image you want. We will become familiar with the controls and features of your individual camera. You can learn techniques for long-exposures, how to effectively use graduated filters for landscape photography, and much more.
Photography workshops can be focused around many different aspects of photography.
Popular workshop themes include:
- Camera basics
- Composing your images
- Post-processing and image management
- and even bird specific photography
We can discuss what you are looking to get from the workshop, and build it around your needs.
